General check-in for anyone wanting to meet up and say HI at the SG con in Burbank in a week and a half. Both of us (Surreal and Anndie) will be there, as always - but this time as fans rather than volunteers. If anyone's gone to this con (or any Creation con in southern California) in the last four years, you've seen us around, usually as handlers for the actors. Let us know if you're coming and we'd love to meet you!!

my friend Taylor ([livejournal.com profile] teiira) and i are going, and this will be our first SG con.

i read the comment you made with tips and pointers and i plan on memorizing all your advice. ^^; (and any other tips you'd like to share feel free to pass them on!)

i think it would be nice to meet up with other LJ people, since the few people i have on here who are fans of the show wont be going.

Yay!! I'll be happy to help you out, or you if you're really lost you can always track down a volunteer (who will no doubt then point you to me...*giggle*). I'm thinking it would be fun to do an LJ-groupie get-together on Saturday night at the hotel bar (that's where we usually hang out between the day and night events). Maybe I'll make a sign that says "SGA LIVEJOURNAL PARTY!" or something equally silly and obnoxious. :D

i think it would be so cool to have a LJ group gathering, if you make the sign i will be on the look out for it! ^^

i have a question, people are allowed to bring cameras yes? i will probably have my big digital SLR, and i just wanted to make sure no one was going to tell me i'd have to leave it in the car or anything.

i'm actually starting to get really excited. my friend payed for me to have my photo taken with David and i'm starting to freak out a wee bit. ^^;

Yep!! Cameras are fine everywhere, including in the auditoriums during talks. I can tell you what is not allowed - video or audio taping of the people on stage (it's part of their contract, so it's at their request). If you're attending an "after hours" event - dessert party or brunch, cameras are allowed except when an actor is at your table, then they're put away (so everyone can talk without the annoyance of pictures being taken.) :D

Photo ops are WAY fun, nothing to be nervous about. They're quick, everyone just goes in a line and one after another, the photographer takes your photo. David is really nice in photo ops, he usually will shake your hand, introduce himself. Just introduce yourself and it'll be fine - he'll drape his arm around you and everything, he's very cuddly.

coo thank you! i hope i can get some good shots.

i have another question, do you know if they allow people to give the stars gifts in either the photo op or the autograph session??? i want to give David something (possibly jelly babies) but i don't want to get them and then him not be able to take them. ^^;

Yep, that's just fine! You can give it during either the photo op or the autograph session. Probably better during autographs, since photo ops are generally pretty quick and it's best not to hold up that line. :D
