Well, we've done it. We've relocated ourselves and the cat to a new place of residence (aka, we have moved furniture, clothes, and a few other items). Plus side - more room, washer and dryer, parking for both Surreal and Anndie. Down side - we have to move a whole ton of crap, and we are further from the evil empire. Also, we are currently living with an angry kitty. She is hiding underneath cabinets until the middle of the night, then crawling all over her mommies to make sure they are still here. Anndie woke up multiple times to kitty nose and paws in um... places.

Because of the location, until Thursday we are on borrowed and fluxuating internet, so you probably won't see us around as much. We will be checking email and lj as we can, but chat probably won't be available.

On a side note: any ideas or suggestions for moving a refrigerator? Ours is a 35" one, and the landing between floors is about 36" wide. Moving companies, things that have worked/not worked for you? We really really want our fridge, but we are out of most ideas...

Congrats on the move!

Far as moving the fridge goes, I have no ideas that aren't smartass like "matter transporter" or "Ask an Asgard" so I'll just... yeah... I'll be over here.

Believe me, "ask an Asgard" has already been tried and the "matter transporter" broke down halfway between LA County and Orange County.

Both times I've moved large appliancs like that my father and I borrowed/rented a dolly (sp?) and found a friend with a truck, or rented a truck from a place that rents moving vans. Barring that I'm sure that any moving place would easilly be able to move it for you. I also know several friends that have done that and it worked fine. Calling some moving people would probably be the least hassle and work for you...a little more expensive but worth the not having to lug stuff around yourself.

one way to move the fridge is to take the doors off.. that helps getting them thru tight doors..

the guys that delivered my new fridge used a belt system where they slung a wide flat piece under the fridge and then hooked it to the harnesses that they were wearing and then lifted up.. it was simple and amazing..
