? I am confused about this IRC thing. Is it like AIM?

It is! It's old-school chat room stuff that pre-dates AIM type programs. It's Internet Relay Chat (IRC) - programs to use are mIRC (for PC) or Snak (for Mac users). It's a free download and it allows you to be in a room with many people at once and many rooms at once if you choose to. If you're interested, you could look it up and see if it's something you'd like. There's several of us in there now and we'll be happy to help if you have any questions or issues. :)

ok. so I downloaded mIRC and am now clueless as to what to do. How do I get on that particular server/channel?

This error is very common but unfortunately it also has many possible avenues of resolution. Just about every solution that has been gathered, from the general to the specific, has been posted in this thread.

It's a pain, but you have to kind of sift through those solutions, and even then whilst it's likely something for you is there, it's not 100% certain. The most common issues are in the first post.

*hugs you* It's okay, the room will most likely be open to anyone every day, though I won't post a "room's open!" post every day 'cause that would get annoying! :D We'll be happy to have you any time! Last night was pretty successful - witchywanda and I finally got around to finishing our round robin but she's not sure if she wants to actually share it with anyone! Might need some encouraging from others...*hint* *grin*
