Just wondering...

Is anyone from the Tin Man side (or, ya know, *majority*) of the f-list old school enough to still have and/or use IRC programs? Such as mIRC, Snak, etc? I'd love to make a cozy little room for us in which to hang out and ramble at each other. Good times. :)

(If so - I can give you the server address I use, but am not savvy enough to know if there is more to configuring than just joining a server...)

*rofls right off the couch* Too cute! Yeah, I do loves me some AIM chats but I'm also used to the old IRC rooms where we'd get 10 or 15 people all in there going nuts, coming and going at all hours, plotting fic, etc. Not that I don't highly enjoy bugging the living shit out of you on AIM. :)

I don't do chats like AIM or Yahoomessenger. I do IRC's. My preference is for mIRC. It's the one I use most.

Well, we can give it a try! I was thinking for some reason there was some additional numbers or something you needed to find the right server connection, but I can't find them on my current program (Snak, which is the Mac version of mIRC). I'll give you the server name and room (channel), see what happens. If you can't get in or if we're not in the same place, let me know on here and I'll go see if I can look up the other numbers.

Channel: #tinman

I don't have mIRC but for this I could d/load it & sign up.

Or we could create a yahoo group - they have a decent chatroom and you don't need extra software.

Oh god, is it scary that when I was only 13 or 14 I knew how to set up and use mIRC and explore the different servers? Of course, now I've kinda forgot since it's been years, but EEK a Tin Man chat is just what I've been waiting for!! :D I'd be willing to humiliate myself in the name of getting to chat with others!

BTW, I leave myself signed onto the channels I am on most of the time. So really.... feel free to ping me anytime you like. But you have to use the name Elfkin, to ping me. It, among other things of the like are what I am set to hear pings on because my usual handle on IRC is Elfkin.

Though there is a GUY from Switzerland, I believe...named Harald...who occassionally does a flood protocal, kicks me off and signs in as Elfkin before I can get back on. Basically, 'cause he's an arse.

But right now I am on there as pennies4eyes. So if you sign into the channel, you will see me there.

I am having trouble getting on quite right because I am usually on a netword called Quakenet which is taking precedence. So I have some stuff to alter. gimme a little while to fidget with the IRC software.
