I'm bored and restless. In the beginning stages of another epic Cain/Glitch story but far too fussy to focus on that alone.
Bring on the requests! Same limits apply as last time: Cain/Glitch or Ambrose/Cain; please no deathfic (at least not perma-death), bloodplay, etc. I'm pretty vanilla in my abilities! Make requests in the comments and I'll do my best to give you something for your time.

Actually, Cain had no idea when it had happened, perhaps it had been there all along but he was so used to the hollow resonance of himself that he never thought to listen.
One morning, long after the eclipse, Wyatt Cain woke to the sound of a heartbeat. Sometime during the night, he had shifted and curled himself in a tangled mess with Glitch. Glitch, for once, was sleeping on his back but Cain's arm was tucked under the mass of dark hair to keep the pull of the zipper from pushing into Glitch's head. Cain was pressed all along Glitch's side, his head resting on a warm, slightly damp patch of bare skin in the middle of Glitch's chest.
His ear was squished just in the right place, where he could hear the clear, steady beating of Glitch's heart. It wasn't the first time he had heard that soothing sound, but this time there was an echo.
With his ear sealed against skin, he could hear his own heart beating as well. The two beats did not match; Glitch's was slightly faster.
Once, Glitch had told him to 'have a heart.' Once he'd told Glitch that 'heart's got nothing to do with it.'
Finding his son had reminded him how important it was to have a heart. Cain hadn't considered that his had finally woken up from its long sleep.
"What're you doing?" Glitch mumbled sleepily, his hand coming up to pet Cain's short, pale hair.
"Just listening," Cain replied in a voice filled with awe.

I really love the second line which is just perfect and somehow... poetic feeling.
The whole thing is just awe-inspiring in this wonderfully quiet way that kind of catches you by surprise and literally made my breath catch.
