EPIC HALLOWEEN OF EPICNESS

So, we had an insanely busy weekend. The short version here, more detail below the cut with PICTURES!!!!!!

SATURDAY: College football, Oregon vs. USC down here in SoCal. As Anndie and I are Oregon alumni, we HAD to go to this one. Anndie went to the ESPN Gameday broadcast in the morning and we went to the game later together (I had no interest in Gameday, plus getting up at OMGDARKTHIRTY.) Football game was epic win (Oregon wins 53-32 or some such ridiculous thing).

SUNDAY: Hair (story below), Long Beach Comic-Con (OMG see below) and Disneyland Trick-or-Treat party (SO MUCH MORE BELOW.)

Anndie at the Gameday broadcast with fellow Ducks and THE Duck - Anndie is in the orange hard hat.

Sunday morning, we set out to get our hair done. See, as some of you know, I have a thing for Glitch. And this is the third year I've been Glitch for Halloween and this time, we had not only the Disney party but also a very short Comic-Con trip to dress up for. So I wanted to get my hair done right, rather than use the wig. Insert a Sunday morning hair appointment where an awesome goth girl went nutty nutcakes with my hair and almost two hours later, I had Glitch hair. Yes, really - this is my actual hair. You have no idea - it's all matted and sprayed and curled and I was ~thrilled~ with the result. The zipper is real and glued in with eyelash glue (another great idea from the hairdresser and she applied it herself as part of the styling).

COMIC-CON. We had one real reason for going - BRUCE BOXLEITNER. *flails!!!* We both have Tron-love, Anndie has Babylon-5 love and I have additional childhood love from "Scarecrow and Mrs. King." Shut it, he's HOT. He was the nicest guy and holy crap, GORGEOUS.

While there we also saw amusing things that you tend to see at these things, including this epic little display:

After leaving the con with our autographed booty (Anndie was a picture from B5, mine was my old school VHS of TRON), we headed for Disneyland. See, every year Disney has these Trick-or-Treat parties where they shut down the park a couple times a week at night to everyone but people who buy special event tickets, which Anndie and I have done the last few years (this was our 4th). Only difference was this year Disney moved the parties to the actual Disneyland park side rather than the California Adventure park. HUGE difference - much too much to do and keep track of but we did (nearly) everything we wanted to and got TONS of candy while trick-or-treating as we went.

I was absolutely ECSTATIC with how many people, both regular people and Disney cast members, recognized Glitch by ~name~. So many comments about the costume, the hair, the zipper. One girl said it was epic. Another said her and her friends were so happy to see Glitch wandering around. A cast member told me that if I see Wyatt Cain to send him her way. It just kept happening all night, I was ~stunned~ at how many people remembered Glitch and expressed their love. ~squee~

Here is Anndie, Surreal, Anndie's brother (as Shrek) and his fiance (as Fiona), and our friend (the hippie) taking some pictures in one of the stores:

We rode the Halloween version of Space Mountain - "Ghost Galaxy" - and our picture ended up with Anndie's hand all up in my face. Bwah!

One of the best things is seeing SO many people dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters - Anndie is Dorothy, of course, and I was Glitch - and we saw dozens of Dorothys (big and small), Lions, Tin Men, Scarecrows, Wicked Witches, Glindas, and so on. I found one very cute Scarecrow and HAD to take a picture with him:

Here is a Disneyland living scarecrow entertaining the passers-by (they had two last night, but at the other park there are almost always living scarecrows on posts in the Bugs Land area, year round):

Finally, Anndie and I decided to take a picture with the Genie, just for fun:

We got home around 12:30 am and it took around forty minutes of soaking, conditioner, combing and basically destroying my hair to get it out. It's a bit frizzy from all the breaking, but you know what? SO WORTH IT. \o/

That is EPIC! Your hair looks fantastic! *flails* Bruce! Tron! Eeep! One of my classmates was at Disneyland, too. I have no idea what he went as, but he was there!

\o/ Thank you dear! YES - BRUCE! TROOOOOON!!! ~flails~ That man is still just so beautiful. *swoon*

Oooh, neat! There were some pretty spectacular costumes, which is a big part of the fun of doing the treat nights.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Your hair is FANTASTIC! :D And the zipper... just... wow. Wow. Between that and the amazing coat with its dangling braids and everything, I am sure you were the most authentic-looking Glitch on the planet that night. Awesome! (and your hairdresser sounds like such a good sport!)

Anndie looks wonderful, too! She has the cutest ruby slippers! ^^

Bruce Boxleitner! I remember him fondly from Scarecrow and Mrs. King, too... he always seemed so nice...

Nifty picture you got with the original Scarecrow next to your modern Glitch.

It looks like a fun night was had by alll, going by the smiles! Made me smile, too. :)

*grin* It was so much fun to do the hair for real, it was infinitely better than the wig. And the number of people who still recognized Glitch by name was even better - so glad so many people have Glitch love! The hairdresser was perfect in so many ways, I really lucked out in landing just the right person at the right time!

Anndie is always cute. *grin* But yes - I think that's the third version of Dorothy shoes she's tried the last few years.

Yes Bruce Boxleitner! I had a huge crush on him growing up from that show (plus he was named 'Scarecrow'!!!). He was incredibly nice and extremely open and friendly, which is often not the case with the 'older' generation of actors (and the more famous ones). It was a great experience!

We did have lots of fun and I'm so glad it made you smile - that's really the only reason I post pictures of our adventures on here. :D
