Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] andrealyn, who stole it from [livejournal.com profile] kseda, who stole it from [livejournal.com profile] erinm_4600. Passing the shiny ball around is fun, if depressing. *headlog*

When you see this, post snippets of all your works-in-progress.

Assorted untitled, unstarted, and abandoned Lone Gunmen (4), Diagnosis Murder (1), and Tin Man (3).

~ //What's the last thing you remember?

You left me.//

Jesse had been missing for almost a week. Steve now knew that in all that time, whatever else had happened to the young doctor, the last thing Jesse knew was that the other man had left him.
- Diagnosis Murder, "Lost"

~ Byers watched in shock as Langly tumbled gracelessly out of the boat and hit the water. Through the audio feed he could hear his strangled cry as the younger man fell. "Oh, God - Langly!" he gasped, his hand covering his mouth.

"Damn it!" Frohike swore, yanking the headset off throwing the side door open. "Come on, before they find him!"

Jimmy jumped out after him, followed by the stunned Byers.

~ Holy crap, but this sucks.

I can feel everything, the blood seeping into my lung, making it harder to breathe. The pavement is cold under my back; my ass is numb.

That thought makes me giggle; a wet, hysterical sound that echoes off the alley wall, turning into a weak cough.

I'm dying, but I don't really care much.

They took him.
- "One Shot," Lone Gunmen (7 member round robin)

~ The first time he let me do this, my hands were shaking so bad we gave up. He laughed at my nervousness and I let him think it was inexperience that made me humiliate myself in front of him.

The second time was more successful. Well, sort of. In that, it happened in the normal way it's supposed to. This was around the same time Mulder was having us do some research for him, on that Paperclip operation. It's a good thing we like to keep the lair dark, because if Mulder had been able to see John's face more clearly, he would have fallen over himself laughing.

That was the first and only time any of us had seen John clean-shaven, and it was because of me.
- "Trusted Hand," Lone Gunmen

~ "DANIEL!" Langly shouted from the bottom of the staircase. "Get your ass down here and out the door NOW before you make your brother late for school!" He walked back to his computer without noticing the exasperated frown from his lover behind him.

"Ringo, language," Byers reminded the other man out of habit. "And I asked you to go get him. I could have yelled myself." He sighed dramatically and turned back to folding his newspaper neatly.

The sound of thundering little footsteps crashing down the flight of stairs from the second floor. Byers rolled his eyes and looked at the skinny blonde boy tumbling into the living room on feet that were too big for his body. "Jay, how many times have I told you not to run on the stairs?" he scolded his youngest son, handing him lunch money as he did so.

The boy shrugged and gave him the lop-sided grin he inherited from his other father. "Not enough?" he cracked, shrugging his backpack on and pocketing the bills.
- "Shiva 2: Deus ex Machina," Lone Gunmen

***(Tin Man below: none of these were started until now, this stuff here is just off the top of my head)***

~ "No matter how much noise you make or how much you whine, I am not coming out there, Cain," Glitch settled himself even deeper into his next of bunched-up blankets and thick pillows. "It's freezing, it's snowing, and it's a long way down."

The sharp crack and shocked, cut-off yell changed his mind abruptly and Glitch shot to his sock-clad feet, his stomach knotting painfully when all he could see of Cain through the open door was a set of white fingers barely clinging to the outside edge of the curved balcony.

"Oh, cripes," Glitch muttered, swallowing hard as he reluctantly set foot outside his room. "Cain, don't move."

"Glitch, don't come out here," Cain's voice shook with effort. "Go get help."

Glitch stood up straight, indignant. "What am I, a house cat? Just give me a few seconds...minutes, to get over there and we'll have you on firm ground again in no time. In no time. In no - "

"Stop glitching and move faster, sweetheart."

~ "How many times do I have to remind you not to scratch under your cast," Cain grumbled with a very put-upon sigh, moving to take Glitch's newest creative solution away. He blinked in mild horror at what it was he had confiscated. "Is this my toothbrush?"

Glitch pouted, arms folded across his chest. "Yes," he nodded firmly. "I have hen pox, my leg is broken and you left me alone for five minutes. What did you expect?"

~ Wyatt got all of the stray hairs in just the right place, flat and smooth and clean. Which made it extra annoying when the sound of a swiftly approaching bell and running feet caused him to leap up out of the long grass, tail puffed out like a prickly bush, only to be bowled over by a skinny, clumsy black-and-white jerk.

Swiping his paw at the offending stranger's nose, Wyatt was taken aback when the other cat simply started back at him in shock and fear. "Don't hurt me, please."

Sitting back and licking his paw as he considered this, he finally just frowned, tail twitching in annoyance. "You're not from around here."

"N-no, I came from the palace but...but I had to leave, my owner was killed by her own sister and everything's gone wrong and I'm lost now...where am I again?"

Wyatt shook his head, trying to work all of that out. "Just outside the fields of the Papay. What's your name?"

"Ambrose," the little cat stared back at him expectantly.

Y'all know there's a lot more Tin Man on the way, but like these, they haven't been started yet. *sigh*
