Ya know, to be honest, I (Surreal) don't watch enough detective/investigation type shows to really have a wide range of choices. But when I read this question, someone did jump to my mind right away.

Megan Connor from The Sentinel, played by Anna Galvin. (Tin Man fans know her as Lavender Eyes or The Queen.)

She was awesome. An "exchange detective" from Australia in the final season of the series, she was brought in as a love interest for the boys. Problem is, by that point in the series The Boys were already firmly a couple. (Yeah, slasher here, but it's TRUE.) So instead, she became a unique and fun character of her own. At one point, she made a comment about how Jim and Blair, together, were the perfect man.

Plus, you can't go wrong with a woman who crawls into the duct system of the police station to WRESTLE AN ESCAPED CROCODILE. \o/

ETA: Anndie chiming in here. Again, I don't really watch that many, or at least don't pay attention to them. Will agree with Surr's choice of Megan. She rules. My other choice isn't an actual detective, but she works with them. I love Abbey from NCIS. She takes no crap from the boys, is a tried and true geek, plus is the go-to chick when they need something solved. Also, who can show up to work one day dressed as Marilyn Monroe and get away with it? She can.

This is a quote from an incredible epic story from a number of years ago, in the Lone Gunmen fandom. It has stayed with me all this time. I wish I knew what has become of Sally, though...the old LGM cronies have been so quiet the last few years.

Anyway, on with the quote.

"But sometimes the parents we are born of are not the parents that have made us."

This was from a good 12 years ago and it will forever be burned in my brain. The slip from the fortune cookie said this:

"This biscuit suits your taste."

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS TO THIS DAY.

[Error: unknown template qotd]It's a tie between "Three of a Kind" and "First Person Shooter." On the one hand, you've got the boys sharing a hotel room in Vegas. Byers gets touchy-feely with Langly's hair in the hotel lobby then adorably embarrassed when Scully catches him. And there's this: "Byers is trying to kill himself." "Stop trying to kill yourself, Byers, it's not deep enough." Plus, MindControl-Assassin!Langly is just so....*guh*. On the OTHER hand...BOYS IN AN FPS GAME. VR gear and guns and geeking out to the EXTREME...and Byers gets to say "Slay the ninja babe!" and he gets just the tiniest bit of whumping. *wibble*. And how many other episodes have them "getting their ya-yas out"? NONE, I tell you!

In other news...

Am practicing my clarinet. I have way more sheet music and method books than I remember. Blahblahblah classics...my favorite one is still "Adieu" by Harry Bulow. It's modern and just beautiful to play.

Also, I find this website very informative and useful.
